Rowan View Mental Health Facility, Liverpool

The Project

Nationwide Fencing were proud to work with Kier Group in helping to deliver the £53m Rowan View Medium Secure Mental Health Unit in Maghull, near Liverpool for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The new state of the art facility, procured through the P21+ Framework and built to BREEAM Excellent Standard, has 123-beds located over eight wards including, specialist learning disability and mental health wards, with a variety of other facilities including therapy rooms, a multi-faith room, music room, skills for life room, sports hall and gym.

The Challenge

Nationwide installed to the vast perimeter, an imposing 5.2m high robust and highly secure 358 Prison Mesh fencing system secured to 150mm tubular steel posts cast in 1200mm deep foundations. The lowest 150mm of the fence encased within a continuous 300×425 concrete kerb, all formed and installed by our skilled operatives.

In addition to this, our expert engineering team fabricated, supplied, installed and commissioned 2 number 6200mm wide x 4200mm fully automated sliding security gates, as well as a number of single leaf pedestrian swing gates.
