Glencar were appointed by RULA Developments to the redevelopment of the former ALPLA Warehouse in Golborne Wigan. Works included demolition of an existing warehouse unit followed by the design and build of a 120,725 sq ft distribution unit with offices, external yard, car park and associated hard standings, landscaping, drainage and off-site highway work alterations.
Nationwide Fencing were awarded the total fencing package including the site set up with temporary fencing, the entire site perimeter, bin stores, crash barrier and acoustic barriers.
The development site is adjacent to housing, and part of the planning conditions was to form an acoustic barrier to reflect noise away from the yard.
The adjacent housing sat 7m higher than the service yard, so a 9-metre-high acoustic barrier was required.
Nationwide Fencing undertook the design and install package of the acoustic barrier coming up with bespoke design consisting of 12m long RJS posts with a section of 406×140 concreted into foundations and clad with our fully tested Interlock acoustic system.
